Tess the season for frozen pipes

12/10/2018 (Permalink)

Keep cabinets open to let the heat keep your pipes from freezing.

Nothing is worse than waking up to a broken frozen pipe, and the havoc it can cause.   As a home owner

here are some helpful tips to remember to keep your home safe during this cold weather season.

  • Open cabinets doors under sinks located to an outside wall.
  • Leave hot and cold-water dripping in faucets,
  • Put foam covers over outdoor spigots.
  • Insulate water pipes with foam pipe insulation.

I never understood why my husband would open the cabinets until I experience a broken water pipe during the winter. I wish I knew about SERVPRO, and all the ways they can help with restoring your home after a water loss. SERVPRO makes it "Like it never even happened.”
